Flashy Bull is West Point Thoroughbreds' first Grade 1 winner and first Kentucky Derby Starter. He brought West Point Thoroughbreds and its Partners more excitement than any of us could have imagined. As the horse responsible for our first Grade 1 victory, he catapulted the stable to new heights.
Every year, 40,000 thoroughbreds are born, and only twenty will compete in the Kentucky Derby. Racing against one of the deepest and most talented classes of three-year-olds in over a decade, Flashy Bull earned his way into the starting gate of 132nd Kentucky Derby.
As a four-year-old, Flashy Bull matured into the great horse we always knew he would become. He posted West Point Thoroughbreds' first grade one victory in the Stephen Foster Handicap and started an unprecedented run of success for the stable.
"Flashy Bull brought us the kind of respect very few stables command. To many, running a horse in the Kentucky Derby is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Flashy Bull belonged in the starting gate that first Saturday in May. As a four-year-old, he became one of the best handicap horses in the country. Now that he's a stallion, we look forward to seeing his offspring on the track for years to come."
"Flashy Bull was such a neat colt. He did everything we asked of him, and he was a pleasure to be around. He gave you everything he had out on the track. His four-year-old season proved that he was one of the best handicap horses in the country."
