Dr. William Baker, DVM, a practicing veterinarian for over 35 years, is the Founder and President of the Woodford Veterinary Clinic in Versailles, Kentucky. Woodford Veterinary Clinic is one of the premier thoroughbred treatment centers in the country.
In addition to an extensive surgical and rehabilitation practice, Dr. Baker consults with leading racehorse owners and trainers all over the world. One of his most famous patients in recent years was Smarty Jones, the racehorse who captured America's hearts and minds after winning the 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. Other patients of note have been Victory Gallop, winner of the 1998 Belmont and Da Hoss, the two-time winner of the Breeder's Cup Mile.
