Jason Servis
Jason Servis has been in racing for most of his life. After a brief stint as a jockey, Servis became a valet in the jockey's room in 1976, working with jockeys Julie Krone, Bill Shoemaker, and Wesley Ward. He was also an assistant trainer and exercise rider for Pete Fortay from 1992-2001. Servis ventured out on his own in 2001, and within four years captured the training title at the Meadowlands. In the past several years, Servis has focused his attention on Monmouth Park and been a perennial leading trainer at the New Jersey racetrack the past several seasons. In 2009, he was third leading trainer with 26 winners.
Servis' brother, John Servis trained the 2004 champion three-year-old male and Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Smarty Jones.
Servis resides in Eatontown, New Jersey with his wife Natalie and two sons.
"We knew we wanted to get some more horses running on the Jersey Shore, and Jason is always a top guy at Monmouth. He has been around this game for many years and I look forward to sharing success with him."
"West Point is a first class operation. They have a great team and a solid string of horses. I look forward to many winners in the future."
