FLASHY BULL DOMINATES!!

October 28, 2005 · By · Share
West Point Thoroughbred's two year old colt Flashy Bull dominated on October 26th at Belmont Park breaking his maiden by nearly six-lengths under a hand ride.  Breaking from post seven of ten, Flashy Bull got away in good order and stalked the pace while well in hand three wide early. He sat third a length back after a quarter-mile in 22.4.  Edgar Prado kept Flashy Bull in hand as he remained in third a length back after a half-mile in 46 flat.  Flashy Bull began edging up on the turn and drew on nearly even terms through six furlongs in 1:12.2.  As he straightened away in the stretch, Edgar Prado shook him up and he responded decisively drawing away convincingly through the lane.  Prado actually throttled Flashy Bull down in the last fifty yards as he galloped home to a nearly six-length score.

Trainer, Kiaran McLaughlin said, "I always believed this colt would get better the further we stretched him out.  He was nice and relaxed early, and then when Edgar asked him he kicked on beautifully.  This colt has a lot of talent, but he hasn't had a chance to put it all together in a race.  Today he did, and I really think it should just the beginning of him continue to move forward.  He's now gotten a lot of experience, and that's only going to help us down the road."

Flashy Bull earned $26,400 for the win which brings his career earnings to $50,650 in five career starts. We are looking for big things from this talented young colt.
