West Point Thoroughbreds having record breaking year

June 28, 2007 · By · Share

The numbers speak for themselves.  That adage never runs truer than with West Point Thoroughbreds' performance in 2007.  Through June 28th, we are winning with 27 percent of our starters.  52 percent of our runners have finished in the money.  While those numbers are impressive, look deeper.

West Point Thoroughbreds' runners have earned over $1.8 million shattering last year's record with over six months to go in 2007.  Our horses on average have won over $14,000 each time they stepped in the starting gate this year.  The success has been widespread.  24 different horses have ventured to the winner's circle this year.  We have won races at 13 different tracks in 2007.  Our success has been coast to coast.  We have won five graded stakes with three different horses including the Grade 1 Stephen Foster Handicap.

These types of numbers would be a successful few years or for many stables.  These are just the first six months of 2007 for West Point Thoroughbreds, and we're poised to break many more records this year.  Records likely to fall during the remainder of the year include wins, starts, average purse per start, stakes contested, graded stakes contested, graded stakes won, horses racing in stakes, individual winning horses, and individual starters.

Hang on for the ride because it sure will be an exciting remainder of the year.
