West Point Thoroughbreds having outstanding year

August 25, 2007 · By · Share

As West Point Thoroughbreds heads into the final quarter of the year, the stable has already had a year worthy of national acclaim.

When taking into account each of the registered stable names that West Point Thoroughbreds runs under, our $2,878,242 in earnings currently places us second in the country in North American purse earnings.

The stable's success is not limited to one horse.  The stable has won eight graded stakes this year with four different horses reaching the winner's circle.  West Point horses have contested seven Grade 1 races this year winning three times and finishing second three more times.

With 41 winners to date, we are poised to eclipse last year's record of 42 wins with over three-months left on the calendar.  The numbers do not lie.  The 41 wins have come from 27 different horses.  The 41 wins have come at 15 different tracks.  West Point horses have run for over $13 million worth of purses, and the average purse per start for West Point horses is over $80,000.  West Point Starters are earning an average of over $17,500 each time they enter the starting gate.

To say the least, it has been an unbelievable year, and we look forward to keep it going through the end of the year.
