Macho Again entered in Lane's End(G2)

March 19, 2008 · By · Share

Seeking to live up to his name, Macho Again will look to show his strength around two-turns in the $500,000 Lane's End Stakes(G2) on Saturday at Turfway Park.  Macho Again enters the Lane's End off a dominating allowance victory at the Fair Grounds in February.

Macho Again drew post two of twelve in the race.  As expected, the race drew a full field, but most of the horses appear very evenly matched.  Macho Again arrived at Turfway in excellent order, and he looks to be in the race with a big shot.  The one unanswered question is how Macho Again will handle the added distance.  He drew a favorable post position on the inside.

Trainer Dallas Stewart said, "He has trained well since his win, so we thought it was a good time to stretch him out again.  He got a lot of fitness from the race, and he looks like a horse that can handle the added distance."  Jockey Miguel Mena will be in the irons for the first time.  Post time for the Lane's End is race 6:49, and the race is scheduled as the twelfth and final race of the day on Saturday.
