Busy Holiday Weekend for WP Stable

Exciting Weekend Kicks off Holiday Season-

When we think of Thanksgiving, the first thing that comes to mind is spending time with family and loved ones.  We're no different here at West Point Thoroughbreds, and that's why we've decided to spend the holiday weekend with some of our equine family members at the racetrack.  Over the course of the holiday weekend, as many as nine different WPT runners are scheduled to head to the post in what will undoubtedly be a thrilling few days for their owners.

The action gets underway on "Black Friday."  For some that means shopping and great deals, but for us, it means the stakes debut of our talented two-year-old Justwhistledixie.  She'll compete in the seven furlong $65,000 Love Affair Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack Friday afternoon.

Saturday's agenda includes six potential West Point runners taking to the track as we turn our attention to Churchill Downs, Finger Lakes, and Philadelphia Park.   In Louisville, Phosphorescent and Prince Teton head to the starting gate.  Phosphorescent will be entered in a non-winners of one other than allowance race, while the "Prince" will try to get his first victory in a maiden special weight event.  Meanwhile, in the city of brotherly love, Call Me The Breeze will face winners for the first time in a Pennsylvania-bred non-winners of one other than race.  Palace On A Lake is entered to run in a six furlong maiden special weight race on the card.  Back in New York, Sandy's Dream looks to regain her winning ways in a six furlong allowance race at Finger Lakes.

No time to catch our breath as Sunday three more members may be heading postward, including the return to the track of Lone Star Derby winner El Gato Malo.  The "Bad Cat" is scheduled to run in a conditioned allowance race Sunday at Hollywood Park.  If everything goes okay in his return, El Gato Malo will be pointed to the Grade I Malibu Stakes in late December.  Also on the tab at Hollywood is Embrace The Storm, who is scheduled to run in a six-furlong turf dash earlier in the day.  Back east, Reine des Lions is trying to get into the starting gate at Philadelphia Park in a maiden claiming event.

All in all, it's shaping up to be quite a thrilling weekend for West Point Thoroughbred owners.  Good luck to all of our partners, and we wish you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving weekend.
