Justwhistledixie in Davona Dale Tops Weekend Action for Stable

Justwhistledixie Looks to Run Her Win Streak to 4 in Grade 2 Event

She's already been deemed the "queen" of New York, but this weekend Justwhistledixie takes her act on the road as she faces eight rivals in the G2 $150,000 Davona Dale this Sunday at Gulfstream Park.  After convincing scores in the True Affair Stakes and the Ruthless Stakes in New York, 'Dixie will test the south Florida competition in the one mile race.  The three-year-old daughter of Dixie Union has never been further than seven furlongs, but trainer Kiaran McLaughlin doesn't think the distance will be an issue.  "She moves like a horse that will have no trouble getting the distance.  She came down to Florida about three weeks ago and she hasn't missed a beat.  She's doing great."

Justwhistledixie's main foe in the Davona Dale could be Frolic's Dream, who has won four of her five lifetime starts, including the G2 Forward Gal in her last.  'Dixie drew post seven in the nine-horse race and will be reunited with jockey Alan Garcia, who has been aboard in four of her five career starts.  Garcia is exciting about getting back on "Dixie,  "She's a really nice filly that seems to have another gear when she needs it, I'm looking forward to riding her on Sunday."

Justwhistledixie is not the only horse heading to the post this weekend, however.  West Point Thoroughbreds is scheduled to have five other horses go to the starting gate, beginning with two today.  This afternoon, Prince Teton and Buzzin And Dreamin get the weekend started.  Prince Teton looks to break his maiden at the Fair Grounds, while Buzzin And Dreamin looks to take an allowance event after his impressive third-place finish in the G3 Southwest Stakes.

Tomorrow, our homebred, Izzy Fitzy, returns to the track.  'Fitzy will be making his third career start in a starter allowance at Philadelphia Park.  He has been impressive so far, with a win and a third in his two career races.

On Sunday, the weekend wraps up with a trio of WPT horses entered.  As mentioned above, Justwhistledixie looks to get her first graded stakes win in the Davona Dale at Gulfstream.  Meanwhile, Boca Belle looks to break her maiden in the finale at Aqueduct and Like A Butterfly runs in an allowance at the Fair Grounds.

All in all, it's shaping up to be another great weekend for the West Point stable.
