Flat Bold wins

July 13, 2009 · By · Share

For Flat Bold, the Belmont stretch looked like the Belt Parkway on a beautiful weekend.  It was quite a traffic jam.  However, unlike greater metropolitan New York gridlock, this congestion cleared in seconds and jockey Ramon Dominguez hit the accelerator.  Flat Bold stormed between foes leaving them toiling in his wake.  Once Flat Bold hit the front, he drew off with every stride to capture a four-length victory.  He earned an impressive 94 Beyer for the victory.

Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said, "That was a nice race.  Ramon gave him a great ride.  He got the colt to settle, and when he asked him to run he took off.  That's the kind of race you like to see.  This colt is going to be at his best when he can sit off the pace.  He ran a powerful race.  He looks like a three-year-old that is coming into his own.  We'll keep all our options open for his next start."

A three-year-old son of Flatter, Flat Bold has two wins, two seconds and a third from seven career starts.  With his latest win, Flat Bold has now earned over $85,000.
