Mr. Fantasy Leads Billy Redcoat Field

April 20, 2010 · By · Share

West Point Thoroughbreds' Mr. Fantasy is set to make his return to stakes competition on Wednesday in the $60,000 Billy Redcoat Stakes at Aqueduct. The Billy Redcoat is a 7 furlong contest restricted to New York Breds.

Mr. Fantasy, a three-year-old son of E Dubai was a leading sophomore of 2009 before an ankle injury sidelined him. He won his first two starts by a combined 19 lengths before finishing third to I Want Revenge in the Gotham Stakes. His last victory came in the Withers Stakes last April at Aqueduct. He returned to action on March 18th to finish third in an allowance race at Gulfstream Park.

Trainer Mike Hushion says, "This is a very talented colt. I think he definitely needed that last race and will only improve off of it. I hope he relaxes a bit more this time. If he does, he will be very tough."

Terry Finley, president of West Point Thoroughbreds says, "We have always been very high on Mr. Fantasy. He has done very well since joining Mike's barn and has been training superbly. We are anxious to get another stakes win under his belt as we prepare for a summer campaign with him."

Mr. Fantasy drew post 6 of 12 in the Billy Redcoat. Ramon Dominguez has the return call. Post time is 4:25 EDT.
