Encore Saritta Wins Again!

September 24, 2010 · By · Share

Encore Saritta notched her second win in a row last night at Hoosier Park. Her quick trip to Indiana included an impressive victory in a "two other than" allowance race. Click here to see the race chart.

West Point’s speedy daughter of Consolidator broke sharply and quickly sprinted to the lead. She never looked back through wicked fractions of 20.80 and 43.80. Encore Saritta had plenty left in the tank in the final furlongs, scoring by 2 ¼ lengths. The final time for the 5 ½ furlong contest was 1:03.00.

Trainer Dallas Stewart said, "Wow! That was great. Jamie (Theriot) and I watched her races in the morning and realized that she doesn’t really like get hit with the right handed stick because she drifts and bumps the rail. I think that helped us tonight, and I’m glad we noticed that moving forward. She gave it her all. This is one fast, fast filly."

Jockey Jamie Theriot said, "I knew I was going fast early and hoped she had enough left turning for home. She had more than enough left to beat this field, and was really on her game. All I had to do was hold on."

Encore Saritta shipped back to her homebase at Churchill Downs. Look for this fast filly back in action later this fall.
