Toboggan Stakes (G3) Next Up For Flat Bold
Trainer Tom Albertrani and WPT President Terry Finley called an audible yesterday and entered Flat Bold into the $100,000 Toboggan Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Aqueduct.
“We were pointing toward a three other than allowance on the 28th. This horse has been training so well, that I called Terry and told him I think we should enter the stake,” said Albertrani. “This is his second race off a layoff and I think he will improve quite a bit off his last race at Parx.” Click here to watch his last race.
“We’ve always been very high on this horse,” said Terry Finley. “He’s one of the best looking members of our stable and is a real athlete. He’s had some setbacks here and there in his career, but is doing better than ever and we are very excited about what is in store for 2011.”
A five-year-old dark bay or brown son of Flatter out of Be A Quiet Honey, Flat Bold has hit the board in 8 of 14 starts and earned over $166,000 for the black and gold. He worked a very sharp four furlongs in 49:36 (7 of 43) on Monday at Belmont as a final tune up for the race.
The 6 furlong Toboggan (G3) is race 8 on Saturday at Aqueduct with a post time of 3:45 EST. We are #5 of 8 with Eddie Castro aboard. Click here to the complete entry details.
