Hey Hey Mama, Too Wild For Words Victorious over Weekend

May 31, 2011 · By Erin Birkenhauer · Share

It was an exciting weekend for WPT and Partners, winning three races at three different venues. The weekend was highlighted by veteran campaigner Awesome Gem's victory in the $300,000 Lone Star Park Handicap (gr. IIII) on Memorial Day.

Four-year-old filly Hey Hey Mama started things off the right way with a 2 ¼ length ma
iden breaking win at Woodbine on Saturday in her Polytrack debut. A daughter of Rock Hard Ten, Hey Hey Mama campaigns for trainer Mark Casse. She’s been a bit of an under-performer, so it was nice to finally see her step up and break her maiden. We expect to see her back in action at Woodbine in a few weeks. CHART

Too Wild For Words is now a PERFECT 4 for 4 over Arlington’s Polytrack. The son of Offlee Wild dueled for the lead early on before pulling a
way in the stretch in the “two other than” allowance on Monday. Under jockey Seth Martinez (regular rider Junior Alvarado is out with a broken collar bone), our bay gelding solidified his love for the artificial surface. After a mediocre winter with him on dirt and turf in Florida, we’re excited to see him back to his winning ways. It ‘s going to be a fun summer with him and we look forward to seeing him go 5 for 5 over the Poly. CHART
