Brokered Wins at Golden Gate
All three 2-year-olds (Pure Indy, Tree of Life, and Brokered) purchased by the WPT buying team at the 2012 Barretts March Sale are now winners.
Brokered, a just turned 3-year-old son of Eddington had a beautiful trip on Saturday at Golden Gate, settling like a seasoned competitor before pulling away in the stretch to win by over three lengths. This was Brokered’s second start- he ran credibly sprinting in his debut at Santa Anita. The handsome (love his chrome) chestnut is trained by Craig Dollase.
Craig Dollase on Brokered: This colt did everything perfectly on Saturday. He’s always acted like the type of horse who could route, and Dennis Carr rode him beautifully. We had to back off him over the summer because of some growing pains, but he’s really blossomed in the past few months and has a great mind. My team is very excited about him.
Terry Finley on Brokered: What impressed me most was his gallop out. He came home with his ears pricked, and just kept on going past the wire. He has so much stretch to him- I love to see horses that use their shoulders and really reach out. The Partners are pumped up- he ran a solid Beyer number (76) and is likely headed for stakes after that performance.
Brokered will be considered for the $200,000 El Camino Real Derby (G3) on February 16 at Golden Gate.
