Really a fun week just past. We conducted our first of its kind webinar on Tuesday. Over 175 people watched at one point or another. Take a look the replay by clicking here
Yesterday at Philly Park, Izzyy Fitzy went wire to wire in scoring another win. His second in three starts. We raced his sire five years ago. What a neat thing to see several of Seattle Fitz's offspring running so well around the country.
Today we try to get the money with Justwhistledixie in the Davona Dale at Gulfstream Park.
In the webinar mentioned above, we announced an initiative called FATE which stands for Find A Thoroughbred Enthusiast. Bottom line is we want everyone associated with West Point to either bring someone they know to the races or introduce them to our great game via a website or newsletter. Just get three people engaged in some way, shape or form between now and the time they break from the gate in this year's Kentucky Derby the first weekend in May.
Simple enough? We think so. We can all make this business better - one person at a time. There are no magic wands - each one of us needs to step up and take responsibility.
Will you do your part? Let us know how you are fairing in this program.
I'm at the Fasig Tipton Sale here in Miami. The breeze show was Friday - track was much slower then in previous years. We'll see how they sell on Tuesday starting at noon. You can see the sale live at the Fasig Website here.
Of course, we are all anxiously awaiting the next start for Mr. Fantasy in the Gotham this Saturday at Aqueduct. Things have gone perfectly so far. He's worked twice since his last race. Both works were almost identical, half in 47 and change and gallop out of a minute. He's eating great and looks great. The others better have their running shoes on when they line up against this dude on Saturday.
If he runs well on Saturday we are one step away from the first Saturday in May. This is the best time of the year in Thoroughbred racing - the Derby Trail. It's great to "Live The Magic" by having a legitimate shot at getting to the Big Dance.
Have a great week.
