Entry 19

April 14, 2009 · By · Share

Sitting in the San Diego Airport waiting to board the redeye back to Philly to be with Debbie and Ryan to celebrate Easter.

Busy week.  Had a Breeder's Cup Meeting on Tuesday in Lexington.  Stayed over and bought two very nice colts at the Keeneland Training Sale.  An Offlee Wild colt and a Pleasantly Perfect colt (who is a half brother to Justwhistledixie).  On Wednesday, I went to Palm Desert to play golf and meet with a Dixie partner, RD Hubbard.  He's in his early seventies and has done so many things in his life - a true American success story - but he's still pumped beyond belief about having a big shot in the Oaks.

Drove to Temecula on Thursday to get ready for our Southern California Farm Tour and Two Year-Old Event.  Met up with Josh and JB.   Friday we had a neat wine tasting party for clients at a Southern Cal winery.  Highlight of that night was hearing Laffit Pincay discuss his amazing riding career and life.

On Saturday morning we entertained over fifty clients at Peacefield Farm in Temecula.  We are certainly building for the future in Southern California....

The Oaks is 20 days away and the excitement is building.  I know our filly will not get top billing in the prerace buildup - Rachel Alexandra is the likely favorite.  Rachel has never run against a filly like Dixie - she better be ready to run the race of her life when the gates open.

We started a Twitter page for clients and fans to follow Dixie on a daily basis.  You can logon and get on the list to get updates by clicking here http://twitter.com/dixieintheoaks.

We've got Mr. Fantasy, Macho Again, Awesome Gem and Fitz Just Right all gearing up for stakes action over the next few weeks.

Nothing like a barn full of runners to get one up in the morning.  Kentucky Oaks here we come......

Terry
