The colt is from the first crop of a very fast son of the great sire Distorted Humor and from a wonderful Keswick Farm family that gives him the potential to be anything. Da Stoops was a dominant sprinter in California for two years, and he stretched out well enough to run third in the Dwyer Stakes(G2) in New York. His first crop of foals has sold well and this is just flat out a good looking colt.
The colt's dam, Jathibiyah, by the great sire and broodmare sire Nureyev, has already produced seven winners including stakes-placed Littleton Arwen. Jathibiyah, is three quarter sister to the classic winning filly Ensconsed, by Lyphard, winner of the Goffs Irish One Thousand Guineas(Ire-G1) and highweighted filly at three on the Irish Free Handicap. Another half sister produced stakes winner Crystal Drop and another is second dam of champion Mambo King.
The next dam is Keswick's wonderful mare Treasure Chest, a full sister to champion My Dear Girl (dam of In Reality), and dam of three stakes winners and ancestress of Glint of Gold, Diamond Shoal, Armiger and many more Group 1 or Grade 1 winners.
Distorted Humor has sired 15 stakes winners out of Northern Dancer line mares, including Commentator, Hystericalady and Cowtown Cat, and there's no reason why Da Stoops won't like that combination too.
