We've had tremendous luck with Macho Uno, the sire of our 2009 Grade 1 winner Macho Again, and we think this could be the same kind of racehorse. He got away from the pole at Calder a little slowly, but once he changed leads, he leveled out as well as any of them. He's a little bigger than Macho Again, but he's built the same way, and we think he's a terrific fit for us.Macho Again was a champion 2-year-old and Breeders' Cup Juvenile(G1) winner who trained on to be a top handicap horse as well. His offspring show the same kind of class and versatility. He's sired classic winners like Harlem Rocker, Grade 1 winning two-year-olds like Wicked Style, and tough, classy handicap horses like Macho Again.
This colt's dam is half sister to a really brilliant horse in Roses in May, who won over $5.4-million, including the Dubai World Cup(G1) and Whitney Handicap(G1). Roses in May is bred just like this colt's dam, so the genetics are there. His dam's half sister, stakes winner Lismore Lass, is dam of Grade 3 winner Dynamite Lass. Another half sister, Secret Threat, produced Grade 3 winner Gleefully and stakes winner Slew's Secret. This is a rapidly improving family that includes Japanese millionaires and group stakes winners Wonder Speed and Wonder Acute.
