West Point Thoroughbreds’ handsome son of Forest Camp, Camp Victory fought on gamely in the stretch to win on Sunday at Santa Anita. This was Camp Victory’s fifth lifetime victory carrying the black and gold. Click here to see the race replay.
Trainer John Sadler said, “This is such a hard trying horse. He fit well against this group of horses and dug in gamely in the final furlongs to secure the win.”
Jockey Joel Rosario said, “My horse relaxed very nicely just off the leader down the backside, and then kept running hard all the way down the lane.”
Camp Victory earned $22,800 for the win, bringing his lifetime earnings to over $120,000. He provided his Partners with many thrills during his career and was a real fighter when it came time to go in the starting gate. Camp Victory was claimed out of the race by trainer Mike Mitchell for owners Jacobson and Miller Featherston.
