Contempt of Court broke his maiden on Friday at Ellis Park for trainer Dale Romans. Off as the second-choice in the field of six, he stalked the pace while in hand, came four wide on the turn, and drew clear to score by two lengths.

“I told Corey (Lanerie) to be super aggressive,” said Romans. “He followed my instructions and gave this horse a great ride. He’d been a very frustrating horse, so it’s great to see him get the job done.”
