Derek Man, our four-year-old son of Salt Lake, broke his maiden scoring a dead heat victory at Charles Town on April 24th.  Making his fourth career start, Derek Man was caught wide on the first turn in the two turn six and a half furlong race, but he settled well into mid-pack down the backstretch.  Derek launched his bid midway down the backstretch and collared the leader, but he lost ground at the top of the stretch.  Eventually, Derek get his momentum going once again, and he got up late to dead heat for the win.

Derek Man now has a first and a second from four career starts.  He exited the race well and should run back in May.
