We are working hard to stay current in the social networking sector of our business. We're trying to develop more thorough and creative ways to reach out to our clients, partners, and fans so that they can be even more informed about all the goings on with West Point Thoroughbreds. I thought one of the best ways would be if I wrote a blog and I think it will be great to recap the week and convey my thoughts each Friday.
I am in Hong Kong right now- getting ready for our first starter in Asia- Awesome Gem in the Hong Kong Mile. We think we have a chance to get a big part of the purse. We are 25-1, but only got beat by two lengths by Kip Deville in the Breeders Cup Mile and he's 3-1. Go figure!
I'm over here with our bloodstock agent, Buzz Chace. I never thought we'd get Buzz to sit through a 16-hour plane ride but he's here and having a great time. The flight over is a long one, but I have to say business class on Cathay Pacific is a nice touch. Garrett Gomez has the ride on Awesome Gem Sunday. His agent, Ron Anderson, one of the best in the business, is here as well. There is a Hong Kong Cup party tonight we'll all be attending to celebrate the event.
The stable has had a good fourth quarter- we are winning races and building up the purse account. Winning races and doing a good job for our partners is what we're all about.
I'm really looking forward to sitting down on a regular basis and putting pen to paper each week about the stable and matters that are important to racing.
