A son of WPT’s first grade one winner Flashy Bull, Flashy Sunrise finally got that elusive winner’s circle photo after finishing second or third in 10 other races. His career earnings now stand at over $104,000.
“We knew sooner or later he’d get his picture taken,” said WPT president Terry Finley. “He just took his time getting there. This horse always tries hard and has been very, very sound for us. Our Partners have been able to enjoy seeing him regularly compete over the past year and a half. Now they have a winner. Who knows, now that he knows what victory tastes like he could keep getting better.”
“I appreciate everybody sticking with us and believing in this horse,” said trainer Dallas Stewart (pictured left). “I knew he had it in him. We’ve had some tough trips with him, but today everything worked out and Shaun rode him perfectly. It was great to stand in the winner’s circle with a group of Partners.”
Flashy Sunrise earned an 84 Beyer Speed Figure. Look to see him back in the starting gate in a few weeks at the Fair Grounds.
