Fortunate Storm, our three-year-old son of Fortunate Prospect, scored a stirring victory to break his maiden in a MSW at Aqueduct on March 19th.  Fortunate Storm had to survive a blistering speed duel which saw him blaze through a half-mile in 44.2 and six furlongs in a testing 1:09.1.  Fortunate Storm crossed the wire four and a half lengths in front and earned an 86 Beyer figure.

Jockey Shaun Bridgmohan said, “I was scared when I saw that 44 and change fraction come up.  He felt like he was going real easily though.  When I asked him at the top of the stretch he dug in and gave me more.”

Trainer Rick Violette, Jr. said, “He really seemed to love the one turn mile.  He seemed comfortable, but I thought they were oing too fast.  However, he put away the other speed and kept on going.  It was a very impressive performance.”

Fortunate Storm will be pointed for an “a other than” later in April.
