High Finance won big in the MSW going seven furlongs on April 15th at Keeneland. He broke a bit slow, rushed into contention early, stalked the two pacesetters, drew even on the turn, and drew off through the lane in a vigorous hand ride to crush the field by over nine-lengths.
Trainer Rick Violette said, “Wow. This was a performance we were all waiting for, and it couldn’t have come on a better stage than Keeneland. He still is learning as he goes along. Jockey Rafael Bejarano said, “This is a nice colt. He didn’t break too sharp, so I had to push on him a little bit early to get in contention. When we got where I wanted to be he came back to me really nicely. I just waited until I wanted to go, and when I asked him he responded beautifully. High Finance increased his career earnings to $47,545.
