By Up-and-Coming Sire, In Foley Barn of O Besos Fame
Strong Colt Progressing For O Besos’ Trainer Greg Foley
From the Immediate Family of Leading Sire Curlin
Sire American Freedom Has String of 2yo Winners From First Crop
A terrific specimen by an up and coming sire, this colt is one our buying team kept coming back to and decided in the end that he was “one we needed to have.”
Named Kiawah Breeze, he is our second horse in the care of Greg Foley, who pulled so many strings right with O Besos, the fifth-place finisher in the 2021 Kentucky Derby.
The new colt comes from the same family that produced leading sire Curlin: this colt’s dam and Curlin are half siblings. The dam Deputy Saint is a daughter of another Horse of the Year, Saint Liam—some serious horse power up close in this pedigree.
American Freedom is a first-crop sire based in Kentucky at Airdrie Stud. A Grade 3-winning son of Pulpit, American Freedom is off to a strong start with a first-out winner at Keeneland and 8-length winners this summer at Ellis Park, Prairie Meadows and Delaware Park.
Kiawah Breeze has been making steady progress in the Foley barn and is on track to debut this fall.
Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2022.
