This filly was purchased at the Saratoga New York-Bred Yearling Sale from one of the most well-respected consignors in the business, Archie St. George. He sang her praises all week.
The filly was located in the end stall closest to the sales ring (once occupied by Conquistador Cielo). Thousands of people passed by there each day and she never turned a hair. Central Baker stands about half a mile from Tommy’s house, and we loved one of his colts at the 2-year-old sale this year. So far the ones on the track are fast, fast, fast.
Central Banker, by Speightstown, has gotten off to a superb start as a sire, with three 2-year-old winners already this year from his first crop. As a racehorse, he was precocious 2-year-old who won second time out at Saratoga. As a 3-year-old he was third in the King’s Bishop (G1) and just half a length away from becoming a grade one winner in the Malibu (G1) at Santa Anita.
We fully expect to have this filly in the starting gate for George Weaver next summer at the Spa!
The NY-bred program is the best state-bred program in the country, with over 800 restricted racing opportunities annually (including 45 stakes) and $45 million set aside for state-bred races. If you live in New York, buying a state-bred is a great way to virtually guarantee your horse remains racing at the Empire State tracks all year long.
Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2020.
