By Honor Code out of Grade 1 winner Hollywood Story, Honor A.P. helps continue the legendary A.P. Indy line in modern-day racing.
Broodmare sire Paynter was one of the toughest horses of the modern era, winning the Haskell (G1) as a 3-year-old and overcoming a serious illness to return to the races the following year.
This filly will head to Hall of Famer Mark Casse, one of North America’s most accomplished conditioners. Mark trains Arkansas Derby (G1) winner and top Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Sandman for West Point and in the past developed top graded stakes fillies like champion Tepin, Queen’s Plate winner Wonder Gadot, Canadian Horse of the Year Catch a Glimpse, Got Stormy, and Wonder Wheel amongst many others.
West Point’s Joe Bianca said, “I don’t usually fall in love with horses, but I fell in love with her. She’s leggy but strong, with great presence. The Honor A.P.s we’ve seen tend to have that smooth, efficient way of going, and she looks like she’ll stretch out and improve with age. She’s the kind of filly you can dream on — potentially classic-distance quality.”
During the breeze show, our on-track scouting team commented, “NICE. Strong. Good mover.” The filly coasted through an eighth of a mile in 10 flat, with a huge 25.9-foot (1.57 feet above average) stride length.
She shipped from the OBS Sale to Mark Casse’s training center in Ocala. Like Sandman last year, this filly could get started in Kentucky in early summer before heading to Saratoga.
Price includes all acquisition costs and training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2026.
