After securing the Keeneland September sale topper in a strapping Into Mischief colt on Day 2, we went right back to the well on Day 3 to snag another handsome colt by the world’s leading sire, Hip 521.

Bred and consigned by Clearsky Farms, breeder of the great Arrogate, Hip 521 is from an exciting, young female family. His dam, Ever So Clever is by superstar stallion and broodmare ace Medaglia d’Oro. She was multiple graded stakes placed as a 2-year-old and captured the Grade III Fantasy Stakes at three en route to over a half-million dollars in earnings.

Ever So Clever has two foals on the track so far, one of which is Hip 521’s full-brother Everso Mischievous, an ascendant 3-year-old for the Brad Cox barn who’s recorded multiple 90+ Beyers and edged out West Point’s star colt Northern Invader in the Derby Day finale this spring.

Second dam Foxy Danseur, by another strong broodmare sire influence in Mr. Greeley, was a multiple stakes winner and multiple graded stakes placed before producing an impressive four stakes horses from five foals to race.

This colt is full of class with good size but still lots of room to grow, and is stamped like Into Mischief with that white blaze and athletic frame. He is already well developed in his hind end, and is a fluid, correct mover with great muscle tone.
