This gray or roan colt is by Horse of the Year Knicks Go, one of the most dynamic dirt runners of the modern era.
Knicks Go captured major Grade 1 events such as the Breeders’ Cup Classic, Pegasus World Cup, Whitney, and Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, amassing over $9.2 million in earnings. He was known for his relentless cruising speed and toughness, and he’s now passing that on to his first crop of 2-year-olds.
Out of the Indian Charlie mare Sassy Ali Joy, a daughter of Fusaichi Pegasus’ Dana Dew, this colt hails from a deep, accomplished female family. West Point’s generational talent and Horse of the Year Flightline is also out of an Indian Charlie mare.
The Paynter/Indian Charlie cross produced the tough-as-nails Grade One winner Hot Rod Charlie.
Bred in Kentucky, this colt will head into training with Hall of Fame conditioner Mark Casse, who currently trains Arkansas Derby (G1) winner and top Kentucky Derby (G1) contender Sandman for West Point Thoroughbreds and co-owner DJ Stable.
“He’s a beautiful, athletic colt,” said West Point CEO Terry Finley. “Jon Green of DJ Stable loved him all week, and we joined forces to add him to the stable. It’s been an incredible ride with Sandman, and we now have a top Derby trail prospect to send Mark for 2026.”
The price includes acquisition, training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2026.
