Dallas Stewart has trained for West Point Thoroughbreds for more than 20 years, so our team is well versed in his communication style. Dallas doesn’t often gush, but this was a notable exception. He was absolutely blown away by this filly by hot young sire Nyquist and considered her a “must-have.” “She is just an outstanding filly, she reminds me of Forever Unbridled,” said Dallas, speaking of his champion older female of 2017 who went undefeated that season capturing the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Distaff, Personal Ensign at Saratoga, and Fleur de Lis at Churchill. “Just the presence she had, the size of her, she carried herself great, she vetted great, and I just had to buy a piece of her myself.” Nyquist was an undefeated champion at two and remained unbeaten all the way through the Kentucky Derby, becoming just the second horse to win both the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and the Derby. He is a son of the elite sire Uncle Mo, and he has jumped out to a very fast start as a stallion, just like Uncle Mo. From his first crop, Nyquist has two of the top two-year-old fillies in the country: he sired the winner and third-place finisher in the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga a couple weeks back. He also accounts for a stakes-winning two-year-old colt, Gretzky the Great. The filly’s dam was a major stakes winner in Peru, and her female family traces back to multiple Grade 1 winner Cara Rafaela, who earned the vaunted Broodmare of the Year award for producing champion and now well-established sire Bernardini. Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2022.
