Top Colt By One of the Top Stallions in the World
Featuring an exciting pedigree loaded with potential and a simply phenomenal physical, Hip 225, our brand-new Quality Road colt, truly has it all as one of the standouts of the star-studded Keeneland September sale.
In addition to his legendary sire, who’s produced 73 stakes winners and counting, Hip 225 is out of an ultra-talented young mare. March X Press was a dazzling turf sprinter who was always a little slow out of the gate before coming with an explosive, scintillating late kick, which won her the Bolton Landing Stakes as a 2-year-old in highly improbable fashion (video).
Most recently selling for $560,000 with our colt in utero in 2021, March X Press has already shown immense potential as a broodmare with her first foal, Fort Bragg, earning a 106 Beyer in a game conquest of the Grade III Dwyer Stakes earlier this summer. Second dam Indian Rush was also a stakes-placed juvenile by outstanding broodmare sire Indian Charlie.
Built like a 2 or even 3-year-old, Hip 225 makes a tremendous impression in the flesh. He has a big, long stride while still looking extremely fluid in his motion and sports fantastic muscle tone from tip to tail, particularly in his shoulder. The fact that he’s a late-April foal and has even more development to come is an even more tantalizing final piece to this dazzling picture.
