Classic Distance Colt Going to Dallas Stewart
This colt has the profile and physical of a two-turn, “classic” horse, and is a natural for trainer Dallas Stewart, who just took West Point Thoroughbreds back to the Kentucky Derby with Winning Impression. The colt has Churchill Downs written all over him: his daddy Street Sense soared to a 10-length victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile beneath the famous Twin Spires and came right back there to make history by doubling up in the Kentucky Derby. Street Sense also happens to be a son of Street Cry, who sired one of the all-time greats in Zenyatta. David Ingordo signed the ticket for Zenyatta as a September yearling and it is no surprise that he was similarly drawn to this colt. “This is the kind we’re looking for,” said David, whose hit list of 2-turn stars includes current Santa Anita Derby winner Honor A. P., purchased at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select sale, which this year amid COVID-19 was consolidated into the Fasig-Tipton Yearling Showcase in Kentucky. The new colt’s stellar female family is anchored by Lyphard’s Delta, a top-class mare in England who came to the United States and churned out Grade 1 winners Indy Five Hundred and Biondetti and, most importantly, the dam of three-time champion Royal Delta. Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2022.
