Tapwrit colt

    • Similar cross to grade 1 winner Flightline

    • Half-brother to rising star Elector

    • Sadler Hand-Picked Handsome Grey

We couldn’t help but be drawn to this gorgeous grey colt. A grandson of Tapit, he’s a half brother to West Point’s rising star Elector. He’s also bred on a very similar cross to grade 1 winning superstar Flightline (Tapit sire line out of mares from the In Excess line).

Trainer John Sadler had his eye on this colt all week long. “I really liked his work,” said Sadler. “He went fast and looked like he had plenty left in the tank. We love Elector and with him being bred on the same cross as Flightline, he really was a can’t miss. Physically he’s very nice. Not too big and very leggy and stretchy.”

The grey colt’s quarter-mile work was the fastest of his session.

He’s from the first crop of Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Tapwrit. Under his second dam is the Saratoga grade one winner So Many Ways.

“He’s been a star all winter,” said consignor Eddie Woods. “If he was by his grandsire Tapit, he could have brought a million dollars.”

Elector, also a grandson of Tapit, would have gone through the ring at OBS April himself two years ago if the sale wasn’t pushed back due to COVID-19. David Ingordo and WPT stepped in to buy him privately at that point. He owns two wins in three starts, earning 95 and 97 Beyers, and Sadler will now consider him for a Graded stakes race.

Price includes all acquisition costs and all training, veterinary, and insurance expenses until January 1, 2023.
