Lady Fairbanks Takes on Only 4 in Saturday’s Railbird Stakes / Friday, May 18, 2012

Lady Fairbanks makes her stakes debut in Saturday’s $100,000 Railbird Stakes (G3) at Betfair Hollywood Park. A 3-year-old daughter of Pure Prize, Lady Fairbanks broke her maiden in March at Golden Gate Fields before running two credible races against winners in Southern California.

Terry Finley and trainer Craig Dollase decided to take a shot in the Railbird after seeing how well Lady Fairbanks bounced out of a fourth place finish in a May 5th Hollywood Park turf race.

“She’s a talented filly who’s tried hard in each and every one of her races,” says Finley. “We acknowledge it’s a quick turnaround, but this is a short field, and she’s a live contender on paper. Her Partners are really excited and looking forward to getting some black type on her page.”

The Railbird is race three on Saturday with post time of 12:03 PT . Lady Fairbanks breaks from the two hole with jockey Joe Talamo back aboard. About 10 Partners and their families are headed to the track to enjoy a fun day of racing and to hopefully get their picture taken!
