RECORD SETTING YEAR CONCLUDES FOR WEST POINT
2004 was a record setting year for West Point. With a single year record established for wins, earnings, starts, individual winning horses, individual starters, and tracks won at.
President Terry Finley said, "We would have loved to have finished stronger in the last few weeks of the year, but on the whole it was a tremendous year. We had more starters than ever, and more individual horses win than ever. We had our first winners in California and Canada."
"Obviously, the highlight of the year was the tremendous success of Seattle Fitz. He won three graded stakes and captured our first Grade 2 in the Brooklyn Handicap. He also tied a stake record that day. Unfortunately, he ended up getting hurt later in the year, but he will stand as a stallion in Kentucky, so we look forward to seeing his progeny on the track."
"We have the best team in place, and look for more success in 2005."
