Moon's Halo, West Point's first two year-old runner of the year, romped to an impressive four and a half length victory in the five furlong Maiden Special Weight on June 19th at Belmont Park.  The final time was a sparkling 57.1 seconds.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Moon's Halo broke alertly and sat just off the pace under rider Eibar Coa, before being unleashed at the top of the stretch and sprinting to an easy victory.  Trainer Rick Violette enthused, "We knew this was a nice colt.  We're going to have a lot of fun with him and we were just much the best today.  In these five furlong races you really have no margin for error, but this is a real professional colt, and he did everything right.  He's only going to get better."

The Halo's Image colt, who was a $275,000 OBS purchase earlier this year, may now be aimed at the six furlong Saratoga Special (G2) on July 28th.
