Rick's assistant Rusty said, "This horse will give you everything he's got when you send him out there. You just have to place him where he can win. He's a real kind horse to train and he will give you a true effort every time out. Mike gave him a great trip today, and we got the job done.
Mike Luzzi said, "Speed wasn't holding up great, so I took the horse back and got him to settle. He's never been a difficult horse to steer, so I wanted to save as much ground on the first turn as possible. We got a good relaxed position, then I edged out a bit down the backside. When I asked him at about the three-eighths pole he picked up his feet and really got going. I knew we had the race won at the top of the stretch. I just had to keep after him a little bit and he got the job done."
