Brendolyn broke her maiden this on May 25th at Hollywood Park.  She did it in gutsy fashion by stalking a hot pace early before advancing to tackle the favored pacesetter in the turn and resolutely digging in on the outside down the home stretch to get up in the final strides and score a thrilling head victory.

Trainer Craig Dollase said, "This filly showed no quit.  The filly we beat was dropping out of a MSW, and she was fast.  We got a little help from the rail horse who went up and contested the pace.  Tyler did a good job letting our filly settle and then when the horse on the rail dropped out he did a nice job letting Brendolyn get up into contention and keeping the favorite honest.  He rode her with a lot of confidence in the stretch, and she was good enough to get the measure of the favorite.  She ran tough."

Craig went on to say, "Winning this race opens up more opportunities for us.  We're now eligible for starter allowances, and I really love this filly's tenacity.  We could have a chance to stretch her out and be okay, too.

Tyler Baze said, "I could feel that I was going to get that other filly inside the eighth pole.  My filly kept on running hard, and she was going better than the runner-up.  I just had to show her the stick in the last few jumps.  She was grinding down that other filly all by herself.  She showed a lot of heart."

Brendolyn earned $12,000 for her effort bringing her career earnings to $25,440.
