Precocious Penny broke her maiden in convincing style on June 3rd over a very sloppy Woodbine track.  Penny was able to settle off a spirited speed duel, and then when asked she responded in a sweeping move to rally strongly through the stretch and draw off by over three-lengths.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Trainer Nancy Triola said, "Rick (Violette) told me that if we could get this filly to relax she could run a little bit, so we've been taking her to the different tracks up here to change up her environment a little bit.  She's really seemed to settle down, and she's put on fifty pounds.  I think that really helped her today.  Corey (Fraser) was able to take her back off the speed today and let her settle.  She got into a nice stride, and came back for Corey.  When he asked her, she took off, and she finished up really well.  She really ran great."

Jockey Corey Fraser said, "<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Nancy wanted me to try and get my filly to relax if I could.  My filly broke okay, and then she came back to me nicely.  When I saw them going fast up front, I just wanted to try and keep her relaxed.  When I asked her to go, she did.  She went right by and finished up really well."

Precocious Penny earned $18,148 for her effort bringing her career total to $27,245.
