West Point Thoroughbreds went three for three this past weekend.  They had three starters and three winners.  On Saturday, June 3rd Precocious Penny and Bella Logo won their races and on Sunday, June 4th Keltish Lass finished off the sweep with a dramatic victory at Churchill Downs. Despite suffering brutal traffic troubles, Keltish Lass rallied furiously from last through the stretch to score a game neck victory.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Trainer Dallas Stewart said, "Boy they really didn't want to give us this race did they? They had us over a barrel for the first half-mile, but when she got free she really came running.  She came out of her debut in good order, and she's been training great since then.  She's really all business.  She gave me no excuses in her training to not run well today.  I still haven't given up on the idea of her running on the turf, but she's given us no reason to change things up after these two races."

Jockey Mark Guidry said, "She broke well.  They weren't going too fast early, so we end up pretty close.  We got in really tight, and I thought I could either use her some early and not be sure how much horse I would have left or try to stick it out in there.  I had to check her a couple times, but I was able to save all kinds of ground, and then when I asked her she was full of run.  This filly has a lot of guts.  She didn't get intimidated at all in there, and then when I got her in the clear she ran hard.  I just didn't want to run out of ground.  The way she finished up, she might be able to go even further, too."

Keltish Lass earned $24,800 for her effort.
