As the racing day started on November 9th <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />West Point Thoroughbreds sat at 33 wins for the year, just one away from their record.  With two runners they were poised to tie and possibly break their record of 34 set in 2004. Felonious Monk started the day off running in a MSW race at Churchill Downs.  He had a very tough trip but showed a ton of heart coming from ninth with a quarter-mile to go to score a half-length victory and tie the record.  Gracie Jo followed up by crushing a MSW field at Delta Downs to win by almost eight lengths and set the record.

Terry Finley commented, "I'm not surprised we broke the record.  We started the year with a very strong stable of horses and the entire team has been working hard all year.  Things have gone very well for us this year and the 35 wins are a result of talented horses and trainers and a ton of hard work.  It's been a great year but we're not finished, we have a lot more races to run in 2006."

West Point Thoroughbreds scored its record breaking 35th win for the year on November 9th. With 7 weeks left in the 2006 season, they have a good chance to increase that total.  They have been winning at an impressive 21% rate and "in the money" at 54%. Well done West Point Thoroughbreds!
