West Point Thoroughbreds' Rich Cristiano has been named Chairman of the Board of the Backstretch Employee Service Team (B.E.S.T.).  B.E.S.T. is a non-profit organization that provides a full range of health and social services to support workers in the barn areas of the racetracks at Belmont Park, Aqueduct and Saratoga.

Rich spoke of his new position saying, "I look forward to assisting Cate Dolan and my fellow board members in taking the B.E.S.T. program to the next level.  A lot of strides have been made, but we must raise the awareness of this important program to all the constituencies of racing.  The backstretch employees impact every aspect of the racing community, so we must do everything we can to make everyone from the fans, owners, breeders, and trainers aware of the work done by this program.  We need this support to improve and enhance what is the most important program for the backstretch employees.  These employees deserve every opportunity to lead a healthy and full life, and B.E.S.T. helps to guarantee that.  I look forward to serving in my capacity of this remarkable organization."
