Graci Jo made it three wins in a row by winning on December 15th at Delta Downs while showing gameness in the stretch. Gracie Jo didn't break poorly, but she wasn't quite as sharp from the gate as she has been. Nonetheless, she went up on the inside to contest the early. For the first time in awhile, she was engaged early and was actually a head back after a quarter-mile. The other filly quickly threw in the towel and Gracie opened up a two-length lead. Gracie faced a new pursuer at the top of the stretch, but jockey Curt Bourque kept Gracie to task and she responded gamely by digging in and easily holding her challenger at bay through the lane

Trainer, Dallas Stewart said, "She's doing what she's been doing a lot of recently, winning. I thought she ran really well. She wasn't able to get way out in front early, but she ran gamely. She put away that other speed, and she ran as professionally as she ever has in the stretch.  The final margin was deceiving. That other filly wasn't really getting to her.  Curt (Bourque) looked to be well in control.  She actually galloped out another sixteenth and came back nicely. We've just got to keep this filly doing what she likes to do, its has worked so far."

Gracie Jo earned $19,800 for her efforts today bringing her career total up to $64,895.  This result keeps us right on target for our ultimate goal the $100,000 Louisiana Premier Night Matron on February 3rd at Delta Downs.
