Pass The Punch rallies for win!!!

February 13, 2007 · By · Share

Pass The Punch showed versatility and a ton of heart to come from well off the pace to get up in the shadow of the wire in the "a other than" allowance on February 13th at Philadelphia Park. Pass The Punch was reticent to go into the gate, and when he did go in he did not break with the same early speed that he did in his first two races. Jockey Harry Vega allowed Pass The Punch to find a comfortable stride, and he was sitting well back early. Pass The Punch was seventh after a quarter-mile and still sixth over eight-lengths back after a half-mile.  However, he responded to Harry Vega's urging in the stretch and got to the pacesetter late to win.

Kiaran's assistant Artie said "The horse ran hard and showed a lot of heart.  He didn't want to get beat and it was really good to see he'd keep running even when he was getting a bunch of dirt getting kicked in his face."

Pass The Punch earned $24,360 for the win today increasing his career total up to $58,760 in just three starts.
