Pass The Punch and Ollie Jet to make stakes debut!!

April 05, 2007 · By · Share

West Point Thoroughbreds has two horses set to make their stakes race debut on Saturday,  April 7th.  Pass The Punch is set to run in the Bay Shore Stakes at Aqueduct and Ollie Jet will compete in the Lafayette Stakes at Keeneland.

Pass The Punch will try graded stakes company in the $150,000 Bay Shore Stakes(G3) on April 7th at Aqueduct. We drew the rail, so Pass The Punch might have to use his tactical speed. John Velazquez will be aboard for the trip.

Ollie Jet is set to make his first try against stakes company in the seven furlong $100,000 Lafayette Stakes on April 7th at Keeneland. The spot drew a salty crew of competitors including Out Of Gwedda and a few other stakes winners. However, Ollie Jet has trained well, and he should be competitive if he steps up his game to the level we hope he can.

This will be the first part of a busy week for West Point Thoroughbreds.  On Wednesday, April 11th, Yolanda B. Too is scheduled to contest the Vinery Madison Stakes(G2) also at Keeneland.  On April 14th, High Finance could also contest the Commonwealth Breeders' Cup(G2) at Keeneland.
