High Finance to run in Commonwealth BC Stakes

April 12, 2007 · By · Share

High Finance is set to run in the $400,000 Commonwealth Breeders' Cup Stakes(G2) going seven furlongs on April 14th at Keeneland.  He has drawn post twelve out of twelve with Javier Castellano aboard for the trip. High Finance has trained very well lately and should be ready to run big. This is a tough race with some very good horses so he will have his work cut out for him. With High Finance having run so well against the likes of Kelly's Landing this winter, Rick thought it was worth taking a shot. We know High Finance runs well fresh, so we expect him to run big.

The Commonwealth is tentatively scheduled to be a part of ESPN's national coverage of the Blue Grass Stakes tomorrow between 5-6pm EDT.

West Point Thoroughbreds President Terry Finley said, "These are the kind of races we all point for.  We all want to run in graded stakes at a track like Keeneland.  High Finance is a talented colt.  We need him to run his best, but we're excited to get him back out there.  We'd love to avenge his disappointing effort in the Perryville last year."
