Flashy Bull set for William Donald Schaefer(G3)

May 16, 2007 · By · Share

Flashy Bull, our four-year-old son of Holy Bull, is set for the $100,000 William Donald Schaefer Handicap(G3) on May 19th at Pimlico. Flashy Bull enters the Schaefer off of back-to-back wins and is looking to make it three in a row.  He has drawn post nine, and Jockey Alan Garcia will come down from New York to ride.  Flashy Bull could not come into the race any better.  His last victory was extremely impressive, and he has not skipped a beat in his training.

Despite the outside post, there is a decent run into the first turn at Pimlico.  Flashy Bull also has tactical speed, so if he comes out running he should secure decent track position.  He runs extremely well when he gets into a comfortable rhythm, and he should be able to do that here.  We come into the race with all cylinders firing.

West Point Thoroughbreds will try to capture the Schaefer for the second time.  In 2004, West Point Thoroughbreds' Seattle Fitz captured the Schaefer with ease.  We will attempt to win the race for the second time in three years this weekend.
