Lucky seven: WPT captures 7th graded stake of 2007

July 07, 2007 · By · Share

7/7/07.  Triple sevens.  No matter how you look at it it's lucky.  Well, on 7/7/07 sevens were wild for West Point Thoroughbreds as we captured our seventh graded stakes of the year when Dream Rush won the Grade 1 Prioress at Belmont Park.  Dream Rush's victory was the second graded stakes victory in three days for West Point Thoroughbreds and our third overall stakes victory this week.  On July 1st, Lear's Princess captured the Tweedside Stakes at Belmont.  On July 4th, High Finance won the Grade 2 Tom Fool Handicap at Belmont.

This year, West Point Thoroughbreds has won two Grade 1 races, three Grade 2 races, and two Grade 3 races.  For different horses have won the seven graded stakes, a testament to the stable's depth of quality.

Also on 7/7/07, West Point Thoroughbreds crashed through the $2 million in stable earnings mark for the year.  With nearly six more months left in 2007, the sky looks to be the limit as we continue setting new records.
